KaBOOM! Badges are a colorful, fun way to add some flair to your profile.

Badges, like member levels, are a fun way to show off how you support the cause of play. They're your roadmap for how you can help us map playgrounds, build playgrounds, and advocate for play.

If you think you've done something badge-worthy, email jcooper@kaboom.org. Otherwise, follow the instructions below to start your badge collection.

  • Alumni

    This badge helps identify the members of the KaBOOM! Alumni Network.

  • Alumni Mentor

    Mentor-300

    This badge identifies KaBOOM! Alumni mentors. A KaBOOM! Alumni mentor provides support, guidance, and assistance to a community starting their journey to build a great place to play. If you are a member of the KaBOOM! Alumni Network, contact Peyton Hutchins.

  • Beach Ball Petition

    Beach-ball-300

    A beach ball petition is a fun way to tell the world that you believe every child deserves time and access to play. Mail your beach ball petition to KaBOOM! to earn this badge.

  • Build Volunteer

    Members of playground build projects earn this badge when they've successfully completed their build. If you helped build a project, contact your project leader and ask them to confirm with KaBOOM! that their project has completed.

  • I Tweet for Play!

    If you tweet about play and are a member of KaBOOM! you can earn this badge. Add your Twitter username to your profile page or send a Twitter reply to @kaboom and say, "I tweet for play!".

  • New School

    New-school-300

    Forget old school. Participate in 3 or more live KaBOOM! trainings and become a part of the KaBOOM! New School.

  • Park-a-Day Summer Challenge

    We challenged and hand-selected a handful of brave parents to partake in our first-ever Park-A-Day KaBOOM! Summer Challenge. Each of them visited at least 50 different parks, playgrounds, and public playspaces and posted their experiences to our online community. This badge honors their efforts to draw attention to the importance of outdoor playspaces and the inspiration they provide other parents to get their children outside and playing.

  • Playmaker of the Month

    Former and future Playmakers of the Month earn this badge commemorating their achievement in play. Playmakers of the Month

  • Playspace Finder

    Finder-playspaces-300

    How many playspaces have you added? Members that add 10 or more playspaces will earn this badge. As a member hits larger playspace counts, they'll earn an extra sticker for their badge, showing off their milestone.

  • Side Projects

    You can earn the side-projects badge by adding photos of side projects you helped build to your project or profile.

    Written an Op-Ed or Letter to the Editor about play that's been published? Let us know! Send a copy of your letter to Emily Hummel to earn this badge.

  • Special Presenter

    Play experts, exemplary Playmakers, and other special guests on KaBOOM! trainings, podcasts, and videos will earn this badge.
